EA piloting digital tool for the public to report water pollutions

The Environment Agency is piloting a digital service for the public to report environmental problems online.

The new service is currently being tested by groups and individuals who spend time around rivers. It is scheduled to go live in 2025, for reports of water pollutions. The service will be expanded subsequently to enable the public to also report odours, floods and wildlife concerns.

The digital tool will be available alongside the Environment Agency’s national incident hotline, which receives more than 100,000 calls each year from the public about potential incidents.
