Defra pledges to set statutory water targets under Environment Act by year end

Defra minister, Trudy Harrison, has reported the government intends to publish statutory targets for water quality under the Environment Act by the end of the year.

She was responding to a written question from Labour MP, Dan Carden, enquiring as to the timing of targets for water and air quality, biodiversity and waste/resource efficiency, after the statutory timetable was breached.
