Costs contain growth at SES Water

Increased operating and financial costs at SES Water reined in growth in profit before tax to £245,000 at £2.34m for the six months to 30 September 2021. Revenue for the period was up 3% at £32.27m reflecting a partial, post-Covid recovery.

Operating costs were up £1.1m (4%) at £26.8m driven largely by depreciation charges on assets up £0.5m and wages up £0,45m.

Finance costs net of finance income were up £0.14m largely driven by interest charges on index-linked loans. Operating profit was up 5.1% to £7.83m.
