Competition watchdog allows Pennon some access to Bristol information
by Karma Loveday
The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) has granted three derogations to Pennon in respect of the Initial Enforcement Order it issued on 15 June, which required the company to keep itself separate from Bristol Water until the acquisition has been cleared.
The derogations relate to allowing Pennon to exercise its rights as a majority shareholder in relations to reserved matters; to permit the sharing of certain financial information for compliance purposes; and to allow information exchanges for specific monitoring purposes. There are strict terms attached to each.
