Anglian Water, Northumbrian Water, Wessex Water and Affinity Water have convened a new project on behalf of the water sector which aims to identify critical elements of a new framework for measuring, managing and funding asset maintenance in time for PR29.
At an event for expert stakeholders last week, the companies shared emerging thinking on: concerns with the current regulatory framework; five potential regulatory policy packages to address the concerns; and options on possible new asset health and operational resilience metrics.
The ideas, which have been developed collaboratively with participation from across the sector and by a steering group including Ofwat and Defra, were presented for feedback and further refinement.
