Construction firm Clancy Group reported a 55% year-on-year hike in profits before tax to £20.9m for the year to 31 March 2024.
Group revenue at the family-run firm was up over the period 13% to £378.5m. A 13.5% increase in cost of sales was offset by a £2.2m fall in administrative expenses to £18.67m and £449,000 in additional operating income to fuel a £6.2m (71%) increase in operating income.
The company reported an order book of £1.5bn, buoyed by wins in the water and energy sectors ahead of price control changes. Clancy’s appointments “with a strong emphasis on building resilience, managing water supply and increasing environmental protection in wastewater network” include capital frameworks with Southern Water and South West Water.
