CIWEM appoints new chief


The Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management (CIWEM) has appointed Anna Daroy as its chief executive officer.


Daroy has worked in private and public sectors for over 25 years, in areas including digital, risk and ESG. She has spent the past 20 years in board and chief officer roles.


She began her career in management consulting with Ernst & Young and IBM, and has since led membership organisations, not-for-profits and charities as chief of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and the Institute of Directors.


Daroy is a former chair of the board of governors for Warwickshire College Group; a board advisor to governance and consulting startup, Boudicca and an advisor to eco-logistics transport startup, Magway.


She is currently a council member of the Rural Policy Group, which advises the government on the environmental issues particularly in farming and UK food supply security.
