CCW to conduct independent review of financial support measures

CCW has been asked by government to undertake an independent review of the financial support measures available to customers who would struggle to pay their water bills. This will include identifying opportunities to improve the help available to financially vulnerable households

The water watchdog is shortly to issue a call for evidence. It commented: “Over the last decade there has been a significant increase in the range and scope of measures provided by water companies in England and Wales to support customers who would otherwise struggle to pay their household water and sewerage bills.

However, not all households are receiving the support they need, and the Covid-19 pandemic is likely to result in increased pressure on existing schemes and available funding.”
