Technology consultancy Capgemini has partnered with water quality monitoring specialist Additive Catchments to scale up the latter’s Catchment Monitoring as a Service (CMaaS) offering.
The CMaaS platform combines advanced sensor networks, AI-driven insights and digital capabilities to provide an ongoing picture of river health.
This provides water companies with the opportunity to outsource the continuous water quality monitoring mandated by the Environment Act, to an expert third party. As well as compliance, the service offers insights that could identify pollutions and enable targeted interventions to improve river health. It could also be used by landowners, farmers, local communities and others.
Capgemini’s involvement will enable CMaaS to be ramped up and further improved, drawing on the consultancy’s AI, data and digital transformation capabilities.
Capgemini will provide the following services to Additive Catchments:
Ongoing research and development capability, to drive advancements in machine learning, earth observation and smart maintenance.
Digital capabilities, such as virtual sensors, to reduce costs and environmental impact.
Business consulting services including strategic sustainability advisory and carbon monitoring consulting.
Operational and software platform management.
