The environment secretary has granted a Development Consent Order for the relocation of the Cambridge Wastewater Treatment Plant, following Anglian Water’s application to the Planning Inspectorate.
The decision was previously delayed, but is an essential component of plans for the expansion of Cambridge.
The project will involve the construction of an integrated wastewater treatment centre and sludge treatment plant, transfer tunnels, terminal and intermediate pumping stations, vehicle access, utilities connections, renewable energy generation, ancillary buildings and landscaping.
