Biwater appoints new chair as founder moves to group president

Biwater Group has appointed Peter Earl as chairman as company founder, Sir Adrian White, steps aside to become president.

Earl (pictured) is the founder and chief executive officer of power plant developer and operator Independent Power Corporation. Previously he led a corporate finance team specialising in utilities and infrastructure. In the 1990s he initiated the takeovers by US power firms of Midlands Electricity and Yorkshire Electricity.

Biwater is set to embark on a new expansionary phase as it works to finalise a capital increase of £50 million to support new water treatment contracts in Africa, Latin America and the Middle East.
