Infrastructure engineering software company, Bentley Systems, is to promote its current chief operating officer, Nicholas Cumins, to chief executive in July 2024. Current chief and co-founder, Greg Bentley, will become executive chair of the firm’s board of directors.

Cumins (pictured) has been chief operating officer since January 2022. He joined Bentley as chief product officer in September 2020 prior to the company’s IPO. His previous posts included general manager of SAP Marketing Cloud and chief product officer of online voting platform Scytl.

Cumins is a dual French and US citizen, and is based in France.

Cumins said: 'I am honoured to have been selected to follow in [Bentley's] footsteps, and I represent the Bentley leadership team when I say we are confident in our readiness and growth mindset for the coming decades.”

Bentley is the oldest of five brothers who founded Bentley Systems.
