Artificial intelligence takes on agricultural irrigation issues
TECHNOLOGY UPDATE
Business services and software multinational, Idrica, has developed an artificial intelligence system for management of agricultural irrigation infrastructures and networks.
According to Idrica its Big Data analysis-based system “centralises the main elements of agricultural irrigation management.” and supports decision-making, through real-time control and asset monitoring.
The company claimed that process automation and advanced algorithms “will be two of the key components to guarantee the sustainability of this sector in a context of water scarcity and a huge increase in the amount of irrigated land".
Idrica was created through the “digital transformation” of Spanish firm, Global Omnium, that currently manages the water supply of over 400 cities.
