Arcadis heads for the UK with newly acquired water management and resilience platform
Arcadis has acquired a 70% stake in Netherlands-based software firm, Water Platform Company, that Arcadis said will expand its “technical expertise in the area of water management and resilience.”
Water Platform owns water management platform, HydroNET, which was created by consultancy, HydroLogic which will retain 30% of Water Platform. Arcadis said it will use its worldwide network to develop and accelerate the international roll-out of the HydroNET.
Arcadis claimed that HydroNET improves water managers' capacity to anticipate extreme weather conditions, and make “well-informed, transparent and accountable decisions,” in the face of unprecedented challenges in arising from the growing risk of flooding and water shortages caused by climate change.
Arcadis said HydroLogic will continue to offer HydroNET in the Netherlands and its current international markets, including South Africa while Arcadis will focus its scaling up of the platform initially on the United States and the UK.
