Anglian Water has unveiled a framework with five monitoring technology firms to install condition-based monitoring sensors on its pumping assets.
The monitoring programme will, according to Anglian, enable it to deal with leaks and blockages “far earlier than was ever previously possible”. It said condition-based monitoring “provides the opportunity to drive down failures alongside any associated health and safety risks and their impacts on customers, while reducing costs associated with reactive maintenance.”
Anglian’s partners in the framework, Asystom, Flowserve, Samotics, Seepex and SKF, will provide sensors to track temperature, vibration, and electronic signature analyses which indicate the condition of rotating and pumping assets and optimise their performance. This, Anglian said will enable it to “carry out pre-emptive work when needed to avoid costly repairs and extend asset life.”
