Anglian Water completes scheme to link 500 homes to sewerage system

by Trevor Loveday

Anglian Water has completed a £20m scheme of ten projects in its region, to enable more than 500 homes to connect to the new sewerage system for the first time.

The company said the schemes will reduce pollution incidents, which were prominent in areas where private drainage systems were performing poorly.

The projects were part of the company’s £9bn capital building programme and comprised the installation of nine pumping stations, two new vacuum stations and over 70km of new pipes which the company claimed will enable 534 homes to connect to the main sewerage network.

Anglian said it plans to put £100m into more schemes like this to connect more homes to its sewerage network.
