Anglian provides Get River Positive funding to East Mercia Rivers Trust

Anglian Water has awarded £500,000 to the East Mercia Rivers Trust, to fund a range of projects in the Witham and Welland catchments. This supports the third pledge under the water company’s Get River Positive programme: to support others to care for rivers.

The funding will help the Trust to restore chalk streams and work on landscape recovery in the Witham catchment, and improve water quality, enhance riverscapes and reduce flood risk using nature-based measures in the Welland catchment. It will also support the Trust’s River Academy, which promotes public education and engagement.

Anglian said since Get River Positive’s launch, its shareholders have put in £7m of investment, unlocking £9m in match funding. This has been invested in 53 projects with 44 primary beneficiaries.
