Anglian offers fund to repel invasive species one last time
Anglian Water’s Invasive Species Fund, has opened for applications for grants of between £1,000 and £15,000 for projects that prevent the introduction and spread of invasive non-native species to the region’s rivers and wetlands.
The funding – now in its fifth and final year – will be available to projects from not-for-profit organisations and local authorities in the Anglian region – the East of England and Hartlepool.
The fund will cover direct costs to control or eradicate invasive species, such as equipment hire to access and remove them. It will also cover equipment, biosecurity measures, and administrative costs for staffing, consent applications, and surveys to demonstrate the scheme’s success. It will not cover research projects, apps, or surveys created for any other purpose.
