Anglian and Cambridge to consult on more detailed Fens Reservoir design

Anglian Water and Cambridge Water have announced plans for a second phase of public consultation on proposals for a new reservoir in the fens.

Stakeholders will have between 30 May and 25 July to provide feedback on a more detailed proposed design and the associated water infrastructure that will be required to fill the reservoir, treat the water, and transport it to homes and businesses.

An artist's impression of the design has been published to support the consultation. It is characterised by an ‘ammonite’ shape and shows, the companies said, that as well as shoring up water resources, the Fens Reservoir would become a new visitor destination and home to a range of recreational activities and wildlife, while also creating jobs and wider economic, environmental, leisure and health benefits for the local community.
