Water Resources West (WRW) has appointed Christine Snell to represent the interests of agriculture, horticulture and water abstractors outside the public water supply system.
Snell is a partner and business director of fruit grower, AJ & CI Snell, and a member of producer/supplier of soft fruit, Berry Gardens Co-Operative. She has a small herd of pedigree Hereford cattle and is a Justice of the Peace.
WRW said that “agriculture needs a strategic voice within each regional planning group that can speak for the needs of farmers in their area. They can bring knowledge of the sector to bear on the challenges facing the groups and help work through the solutions to deliver for food production as well as other needs.”
Snell's business holds abstraction licences in the lower Wye catchment, and has on-farm reservoirs. She has experience with high-efficiency irrigation practices.
