Jobs coalition appoints Eon chief as chair
Energy and utilities sector workforce coalition, the Energy and Utilities Skills Partnership (EUSP), has appointed chief executive of energy giant, Eon, Mike Lewis, as its chair of the its chief executive officer (CEO) council.
Lewis (pictured) will succeed his counterpart at power network operator, UK Power Networks, Basil Scarsella.
The EUSP is a voluntary association of 30 organisations created by Energy & Utility Skills in 2017 to "provide leadership for the gas, power, water and waste management industries and support their efforts in ensuring workforce resilience."
Outgoing chief executive of Energy and Utilities Skills, Nick Ellins said: "The organisations involved should be applauded for what they are doing on behalf of the whole sector to build the human capital in infrastructure and essential services." Scarsella, said: “The secret to this whole coalition has been trust between leaders and delivering on our promises together, and I know that all of us within the leadership group are committed to the task."
The EUSP announced also it appointment of network and capital delivery director at United Utilities, Kevin Fowlie, as chair of the Delivery Board for the CEO Council. He succeeds Eon human Resources director, Chris Norbury.
The EUSP is scheduled to unveil its 2020-2025 Workforce Renewal and Skills Strategy in June.
