Affinity Water appoints top strategist as non-executive director


Affinity Water has appointed founder, and until recently, director of infrastructure strategy consultancy, Indepen, Ann Bishop as a non-executive director. She will take up her appointment on 1 April 2020.

Affinity Water chief, Pauline Walsh, said: “The need to protect the environment has never been greater and Ann’s vision will ensure we set the pace on this for our customers and for the industry more widely”. Chairman of Affinity Water, Tony Cocker, said: “Ann has a proven track record in the infrastructure business and she is an impressive innovator. She is going to hit the ground running at Affinity Water ”.

Bishop (pictured) said: “Those involved in the provision of essential services have responsibilities and the boards of those organisations must lead on this – setting and demonstrating their commitment to high standards of governance and conduct. I know how seriously the Directors of Affinity Water take this responsibility and look forward to playing my part”.

Bishop is chair of the Customer Engagement Group for UK Power Networks. She is a former Ambassador for Wellbeing of Women, a member of the Ofwat expert panel and a commissioner on the London First Infrastructure Commission.

She is also a member of the Leeds Beckett University Board and chair of the Senior Staff Remuneration Committee.
