Personal consumption targets to be set in New Year

Water minister, Rebecca Pow, told MPs last week the government will publish a response to its consultation on personal consumption targets and the measures required to achieve them in the New Year. This will also set out intended next steps.

Pow (pictured) was responding to MPs who raised concerns about the absence of consumption reduction initiatives in the Environment Bill.

DEFRA’s personal water consumption consultation closed last month and is understood to have attracted over 300 responses.
