Thames marks a decade of funding help for hard-up customers

Thames Water has marked the 10th anniversary of its trust fund that has “helped thousands of customers experiencing financial difficulties”.

Assistance by the Thames Water Trust Fund has included providing household goods, such as cookers and washing machines and support with paying bills. It has also provided grants to community organisations that offer advice to people struggling with debt.

Thames Water’s customer experience director, Kelly Macfarlane (pictured), said: “It’s been great to celebrate all the good that’s been done over the last decade and I’m looking forward to the next 10 years.”

According to Thames more than 24,000 have applied for assistance during its first decade, with 67 grants awarded to over 30 organisations with a combined value of £2.6 million.

The Thames-funded trust fund is managed by Auriga Services.
