Anglian chief calls for sector collaboration in innovation
Anglian Water chief executive, Peter Simpson, has called for water industry stakeholders to “innovate both openly and collaboratively.”
Speaking at the Global Water Summit in London recent Simpson (pictured) said: ”A changing climate and growing populations are driving a need for long term resilience, planning and innovative thinking, and these are challenges the world over. They simply cannot be solved in isolation.”
He added: "We welcome any supplier or partner to come and talk to us about what we could achieve together."
Simpson claimed the 114 partners in the company’s innovation hub – dubbed the Shop Window – had delivered 110 projects since its launch in 2017. He said the project aimed to create “the water company of the future” by “ensuring a clear path to adoption for successful initiatives,” and through cooperation whereby “all challenges are shared, organisations collaborate on proposed responses, with the outcome and any results also made public.”
