Surrey University to continue role in global water quality programme

The World Health Organisation (WHO) has re-designated the University of Surrey as a supporting institution in its water quality programmes for another for five years. It is one of only two WHO Collaboration Centres in the UK along with the Drinking Water Inspectorate.

The university’s Robens Centre for Public and Environmental Health and its Centre for Environmental Health and Engineering will together continue as a WHO Collaborating Centre for Protection of Water Quality and Human Health. They will be responsible informing the WHO on its approaches to water quality monitoring and surveillance, providing guidance and tools for small water supply systems, and providing emergency response support.
