Bill Tame resigns as Southern Water chair

Southern Water chair, Bill Tame (pictured), has announced he will leave the business at the beginning of April after fewer than two years in the post.

The news came shortly after Ofwat classified Southern Water’s business plan for 2020-25 into the lowest PR19 category of significant scrutiny.

Independent director Paul Sheffield, working through the nominations committee, has started the recruitment process for a replacement.

Tame had been in post since March 2017.
