Two water firms picked up prestigious marketing prizes this week with Welsh Water bagging three while Northumbrian won the top prize for its blocked drain public information campaign.
Welsh Water’s prizes at the Chartered Institute of Marketing Awards: Best brand building, Innovation and Best advertising campaign, went to the firm’s For Wales, Not for Profit campaign – which promoted its biggest-ever consultation with customers, Have Your Say which toured Wales and Herefordshire to gather customer views on its future priorities.
The campaign focused on the company’s not-for-profit status and how that enabled it to “prioritise listening to its customers.”
Have Your Say featured innovative ways for customers to take part including a “world-first“ bilingual Welsh-English chatbot, where users could register their views on Facebook Messenger.
At the same awards Northumbrian Water’s Love your Drain campaign took the Marketing Campaign of the Year.
The campaign helped to educate customers about “what should and shouldn't be put down the toilet and sink to help keep sewers clear.”
