South Staffs unveils plans including new plant and sources

South Staffs Water has opened a consultation on its  Water Resources Management Plan (WRMP) which covers 25 years from 2020 and includes  proposals for new treatment works, substantial increase in the number of metered customers investment in new sources.


The plans include:

  • proposals for two major water treatment works;

  • a 17% reduction in leakage by 2024/25 and the use of improved leakage detection  technology;

  • a 50% increase in the number of metered customers by 2045; and

  • proposals for a bulk water supply with Severn Trent Water.
