Switching passes 100,000-SPID milestone

The water market hit a milestone on Friday when MOSL reported the number of supply points (SPIDs) switched had surpassed 100,000.

By 1 February, a total of 101,884 SPIDs had been switched. This represents 3.8% of the 2.7 million supply points in the market. Cut by consumption, the switching rate was 8.8%

Ofwat senior director Emma Kelso commented: “These figures today show that businesses are taking advantage of the open market…There’s scope for much more to come as the market develops and grows and that will only benefit customers in the long term.”
