Last week, the Westminster Sustainable Business Forum (WSBF) issued a call for evidence for a new inquiry it is conducting to the water dimensions of housing policy. Specifically, the Forum is seeking to set out an ambitious strategic plan for delivering water-efficient and flood resilient homes at volume.
Among the inquiry’s key research themes are:
Growth, climate change and water security.
Increasing the flood resilience of English homes.
Increasing the water efficiency of English homes.
Innovation, trials and international lessons.
Key risks from water management failures and the mitigations needed to tackle them.
Garden cities.
This inquiry is being co-chaired by Angela Smith MP, Labour Member of Parliament for Penistone and Stocksbridge and former shadow water minister; and Baroness McIntosh of Pickering, Conservative peer and former chair of the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs Select Committee.
Evidence submissions are welcomed until 29 November and should be sent to Jim Clarke .
