Verastar adds to its water supply business as it picks up Aimera

Small business energy, telecoms and broadband supplier, Verastar, has acquired Scottish business water supplier, Aimera.

The acquisition was Verastar’s eighth in the past 18 months and its second in the business water supply sector after its 2013 acquisition of Clear Business Water which has a supply licence for England. Aimera was granted its Scottish licence in 2009.

Verastar claims to supply its range of services to about 10% of all the UK’s small businesses. It said it was responding to a growing demand form small businesses for a single source for their essential services. It said it will continue to pursue further water acquisitions and others in the sectors where it is currently active.

Chris Earle, chief executive officer of Verastar, said: “Our customers want to concentrate their efforts on running their businesses, so our scale and range of services saves them both time and money. Strategy and business development director of Verastar, Piotr Nowosad, said: ”We continue to be active in seeking to acquire companies and customer books across a broad product portfolio including payments, insurance, telecoms, energy and water.”
