Wessex Water has entered another market with the purchase of energy auto-switcher, Flipper.
Customers who sign up with Flipper and pay an annual membership fee are automatically switched to the best deal by the service which compares tariffs regularly.
Group director of strategy and new markets David Elliott emphasised the acquisition, for an undisclosed sum, is underpinned by Wessex’s desire to help customers get value for money with ease. He said: “We have exciting plans for further developing Flipper that ensures customers don’t overpay for utility services.”
Alongside significant further investment in Flipper to reach more customers, Wessex plans to “expand our automated switching service to other household bills,” according to Flipper chairman Nigel Evans, who will be staying with the business.
