First self supply licence application poised to as WSSL bids mount – update
The Water Report understands the first self supply Water Supply and Sewerage Licence (WSSL) application is imminent and may be followed shortly after by a number of others.
Scotland based Everflow this week became the latest applicant for a WSSL. It said it "hopes to attract businesses through a commitment to transparent pricing, so that customers can see exactly what they are getting for the money they pay." Ofwat will consult on the application until 3 February.
Just before Christmas, a Veolia subsidiary put in for a WSSL. Ofwat is consulting until 23 January on Veolia Water Retail (UK)’s application for national trading licence, which will enable it to supply eligible customers in Tidworth who are currently supplied by Veolia Water Projects.
