Water Plus partners with utility software firm in TPI portal deal

Utility software developer, UD Group, has made its first foray into the water industry with its design a third party intermediary (TPI) portal for Water Plus.

UD said its portal will enable brokers and TPIs to generate a quotation immediately compared to the usual three to five days lead time. It said the portal could increase Water Plus’ TPI network tenfold were that needed, replacing the conventional deployment of a sales team to manage TPI relationships.

It claimed its product a has been “extremely successful in the energy industry” for suppliers including npower where sales have “increased 10 fold” since it deployed the UD hub..

The company said the partnership with Water Plus “marks the first time UD Group has worked with a non-energy utilities company.” UD Group managing director, Steve Armitage, said: “ to get off the mark with the UK’s largest [water] provider really sets down a marker regarding what our software is capable of.”
