The World Economic Forum has published its Race to Zero Breakthroughs setting out the near-term tipping points for more than 20 economic sectors in a plan that it said business, governments, and civil society could unite around ahead of COP26.
The plan included a water challenge that aimed to mobilise major water companies responsible for 20% of global water supply to deliver the full decarbonisation of water and wastewater services in 20 countries by 2030.
Water UK was the first industry trade body to be made an official partner to the Race to Zero campaign, having published the world’s first comprehensive routemap to achieve net zero by 2030 on an industry-wide basis.
