Water companies have submitted fifteen strategic water resource schemes to the Regulators’ Alliance for Progressing Infrastructure Development (RAPID) at standard Gate One (see table).
Joining the 14 established proposals was a new scheme from Anglian Water and Cambridge Water, for a Fenland Reservoir which will support resilience and chalk stream health in the east.
RAPID will now consider the submissions and decide on:
• whether the solution and options within it should progress to gate two;
• applying incentives and allowable costs;
• whether alternative and/ or additional solutions should enter
the process; and
• what is required for gate two
submissions.
Draft decisions are expected in
September and final decisions in
November.
