Steve Double appointed as water minister

St Austell and Newquay MP, Steve Double, has been appointed as water minister.

Double (pictured) has taken the role of Parliamentary under secretary of state, with a portfolio of environmental responsibilities including water.

He succeeds Rebecca Pow who resigned as part of the mass Conservative Party walkout in a show of no confidence in the prime minister, Boris Johnson.
