South West Water goes for 100% renewable
by Trevor Loveday
South West Water claims its switch to renewable electricity provider, Engie will make its power sources 100% renewable.
The company said the new electricity source will reduce the carbon impact of its operations by some 63,400 tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent in the year 2022/23 alone.
South West Water’s head of energy, Angus Berry, said: “We are aiming to achieve up to 50% self-generated energy by 2030 and where we cannot generate enough ourselves to meet all our needs, 100% of the energy we purchase will be from renewable sources.”
