South West Water appoints new chair for WaterShare+ panel

South West Water (SWW) has appointed former MP for Truro and St Austell and former SWW non executive director Lord Taylor of Goss Moor as the independent chair of its WaterShare+ Panel.

The Panel aims to champion the voice of South West Water customers, giving them a greater say in the company. Its creation follows SWW’s recent launch of the WaterShare+ scheme, which will share £20m with customers either through a £20 bill credit or £20 worth of Pennon Group shares per eligible customer.

Lord Taylor (pictured) will chair quarterly meetings of the WaterShare+ Panel at which customers can question SWW directors on progress against plans. The first meeting in public will be in January 2021 and Annual General Meetings for customers will also begin next year.
