South Staffs awards civils package for "UK's largest" ceramic filtration water treatment plant
TECHNOLOGY UPDATE
South Staffs Water has awarded a civil engineering package to specialist engineering company, Rossshire Engineering (RSE), and civil engineering and infrastructure firm, Barhale, as part of a £55m rebuilding and refurbishment project at its Hampton Loade water treatment works.
According to South Staffs the project will be the largest deployment of ceramic membrane filtration technology in the UK.
RSE is undertaking a programme to increase capacity at the works with a third water treatment process stream using a ceramic membrane-based water-filtration system. Barhale will deliver piling, construction of reinforced concrete bases, and other civil engineering elements
The project is partly funded through the government’s Green Recovery Fund. It is due to be completed in summer 2024.
