Seven Trent rises up sustainability table of FTSE companies
Severn Trent Water has been placed second in a quarterly league table that ranks the environmental, social and ethical performance of the FTSE 100.
The ranking was under the Tortoise Responsibility100 Index which assesses how much FTSE 100 companies are doing “to ensure a safe, fair and sustainable world, ranking them on the extent to which they do “what they say they would.”
Severn Trent’s move from ninth to second place followed its recently published Sustainability Report highlighting how its environmental, social and governance commitments are “embedded in its business plan and what its ambitions are for the future.”
According to its creators, the ranking “uses measures that deliver on the UN Sustainable Development Goals, with each company’s score calculated from publicly available data across more than 200 sources.”
