Ofwat and CCW publish final future programmes

by Karma Loveday

Following consultation earlier this year, Ofwat has now published its final forward programme for 2021/22, underpinned by a £31.8m budget, £1.20 per customer. In addition to developing the framework for PR24 and overseeing company performance, the programme features work on WINEP, net zero and strategic resource schemes (see HERE).

Meanwhile CCW also last week published its final strategy for 2021-24. The watchdog has set its mission as “Securing a fair deal for water consumers, now and in the future,” and adopted five key objectives:

• affordable water for everyone;

• climate-resilient water and sewerage services for present and future consumers.

• services shaped by the views of consumers;

• services that meet everyone’s needs; and

• effective and easy-to-follow complaint processes.

To deliver its mission, CCW will prioritise four key strategic campaigns:

  • end water poverty;

  • CCW: a voice for your complaint;

  • end sewer flooding misery; and

  • Be in the know about available help.
