Northumbrian gears up for fifth annual innovation event

Northumbrian Water has unveiled plans for its fifth Innovation Festival – a four-day event scheduled for October 18-21.

The festival draws participants from all over the world for a series of design sprints, hacks, and other activities, aimed at solving big water sector challenges.

In a bid to work within possible future lockdown restrictions to ensure the festival can go ahead, the event will take a hybrid digital and physical format. Participants will gather in a number of hubs connected to an overarching digital event rather the conventional single venue. Hubs will be at locations in the UK, Europe, Australia and the US.

Last year Covid restrictions dictated that it had to be a digital only event. The organisers reported it had 3,000 attendees, from 37 different countries.
