Natural capital event for the water sector draws in attendees
A pair of webinars developed and delivered by experts from Atkins, and the Environment Agency on natural capital approaches for the water sector drew more than 350 UK water industry attendees according to the organisers.
Atkins has produced an online video of the Natural Capital for the Water Industry webinars as well as associated materials including speaker notes, and a question and answer document.
The webinars included some of Atkins’ “real-world examples of applying a natural capital approach to improve decision making in the water sector.” They included using natural capital approaches “to support the business case for catchment management programmes, quantification and valuation of environmental impacts of strategic water resources options, and innovative analyses for landowners to participate in Natural England’s biodiversity credits pilot.”
The aim of the webinars, according to Atkins, was to “engage with stakeholders from across the UK water industry to build a more consistent level of awareness and knowledge of the natural capital
