MOSL starts deep dive of strategy metering review priorities

MOSL’s strategic review of metering work is moving into a new phase. Between now and March, the market operator will conduct deep dive analysis into the five priority areas it previously identified. These are:

• asset and data ownership;

• responsibilities and accountabilities – who does what and how may that hinder/ help the situation;

• incentives and disincentives – and the behaviours this drives;

• technology – the current limitations and the role it could play in the future; and

• data quality – the legacy issues of poor data at market opening and the impact of enduring processes and ownership.

The focus to date has been on mapping the current journeys relevant to metering and consumption and identifying the highest value pain points.

• MOSL is undertaking a review of the code change service. It will issue a survey at the beginning of November to learn where trading parties would most like to see improvements – from raising and developing a change proposal, to engaging in consultation, and finally progression to Panel recommendation and Ofwat approval.
