Leep links its two new appointments and variations businesses

Ofwat has modified Leep’s licence following its purchase of another company’s water business and its amalgamation of the management of those sites with its existing interests in the New Appointments and Variations (NAV) market.

Leep Utilities, the owner and operator of a number of regulated electricity, water and district heating utility assets, bought SSE Water in May 2019 and renamed the business Leep Networks (Water) LN(W).

Leep, which is owned 90% by Ancala Partners and 10% by Peel Group, already had a NAV business, Leep Water Networks, which supplies water and sewerage services to two sites: MediaCityUK and Liverpool International Business Park.

Ofwat has approved, for implementation from 1 October, Leep’s application to vary the licence of LN(W) to incorporate the two sites and to revoke Leep Water Networks’ licence. In addition to the variation to add the two sites, the licence conditions of LN(W)L have been modified to ensure that they reflect the current industry leading standard of protection for the regulated company and its customers.
