Innovation in Water Challenge to open on 18 January

The first round of Ofwat’s Innovation in Water Challenge – the smaller competition being run under the regulator’s new £200m Innovation Fund – will open on 18 January 2021. Ofwat said bids to win funding up to £250,000 will be welcomed for six weeks, until 26 February.

Ofwat also confirmed the £40m main competition will open for round one entries in Spring, with more details available soon. It plans to run at least two rounds of each competition this year, with both streams running until 2025.

The fund is intended to grow the water sector’s capacity to innovate, enabling it to better meet the evolving needs of customers, society and the environment.
