Innovation competition, Breakthrough 3, open for entries

Ofwat has launched the third round of its innovation competition, the Water Breakthrough Challenge.

£38m is available in "Breakthrough 3" to water companies in England and Wales and their partners across the same two streams from Breakthrough 2:

• £8m for the Catalyst stream (closing to entries on 8 December) and

• £30m for the Transform stream (closing to entries on 9 November, with invited entries continuing from there to a second stage of assessment).

Ofwat has also unveiled the new Water Discovery Challenge, launching in January 2023. This competition targets early-stage innovations and removes the requirement to partner with a water company to enter.
