Companies and regulators report on climate adaptation
Defra has published data provided by water companies along with that from a range of other organisations invited to report under the third round of the Adaption Reporting Power under the Climate Change Act 2008.
Last week Defra published policy papers related to the sector from:
eight water and sewerage companies – Anglian, Northumbrian, Severn Trent, South West, Southern, United Utilities, Wessex and Yorkshire.
four water only companies – Affinity, Bristol, SES and South East
two regulators – Ofwat and the Environment Agency.
The Climate Change Act allows the Government to ask certain organisations to produce reports on:
The current and future predicted effects of climate change on their organisation
Their proposals for adapting to climate change.
